Age appears in the document only as the pedagogical age group of the pupils (6 to 11 and 11 to 14 years) and as a field in the service certificate annexure.
Educational qualification

A teacher-education qualification recognised for the SGT / primary cadre — Diploma in Teacher Education or Elementary Education (including special education), B.El.Ed., or a four-year integrated B.A.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. The notification incorporates the qualification rules from G.O.(Ms).No.13 and G.O.(Ms).No.12 dated 30.01.2020 and NCTE norms rather than restating them.

Other conditions
- Serving teachers only
Only working teachers appointed on or before 01.09.2025 as SGT, BT Assistant or equivalent cadre in Tamil Nadu government, aided or recognised private schools may apply. Fresh candidates are not eligible.
- No age limit
The notification prescribes no minimum or maximum age. Age appears only as the pedagogy age-group (6–11 and 11–14 years) and as a field in the service certificate annexure.
- Service certificate is mandatory
Annexure-I service certificate must be uploaded with the application, failing which the application is rejected.
