Privacy and cookies

ExamLens is a static public-interest site. Your date of birth, community and disability status are used only in your browser to compute an eligibility answer; they are never uploaded. Analytics and advertising load only if you accept them.

What stays in your browser

The eligibility checker stores a profile in localStorage under examlens.profile.v1 so you do not have to re-enter it: date of birth, community, gender, highest qualification, and the disability / ex-serviceman / destitute widow / serving teacher / Tamil-medium flags you tick. It also stores examlens.lastVisit.v1 (a timestamp used to show what changed since your last visit) and examlens.consent.v1 (your analytics/ads choice).

These values are not sent to ExamLens. The checker downloads the public dataset (/api/v1/exams.json) and computes the answer locally. You can delete the stored profile with Clear saved details on the checker, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Analytics

If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-K2M39H5TDR). Google receives the page URL, referrer, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser information, and interaction events such as outbound link clicks and eligibility checks (without your profile details). Google may set analytics cookies. See Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

If ads are enabled and you accept, the site loads Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to select and measure ads, including personalised ads. You can review or turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. Ads are labelled Advertisement and are never styled as site navigation or as the eligibility answer.

For visitors in the EEA or UK, Google requires consent through a certified consent management platform; the site may add Google's own CMP before serving ads there.

Hosting logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps) to deliver the site, prevent abuse and produce aggregate traffic statistics. ExamLens does not build individual profiles from those logs.

What we do not do

Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

You can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data we hold about you, and you can raise a grievance. Because the eligibility profile never leaves your browser, most requests are satisfied by clearing site data. For anything else, write to sach1n0496as@gmail.com; we aim to respond within 30 days.

Change your choice

Your analytics and advertising choice is stored in this browser. Reset it to show the consent banner again.

Changes

If the analytics or advertising setup changes, this page and the consent banner will be updated before the change takes effect.
